Nevin with a nose job
Rich's grandma Leonicia. Everyone always refered to her as "Grandma". This pic was taken in July 2007. She turned 96 years a couple of weeks ago. She was the funniest little lady I ever saw. She was so spunky. I was privileged to spend 10 days with her in 2007 when I went to California to watch Rich and Ginger's kids. She was so funny. Her and Nevin used to fight and fight. He was always stealing her little walker and running off with it. She was sad at times because she missed her husband, and now she is with him again, so she is happy. She had a huge closet full of matched sets of clothes and tons of jewelry. She always wore it. When I first got to California, she came up to me crying. She said she needed to know the address of "this place" so she could call her husband and tell him where to pick her up. She said he had went to the airport to get the girls, but she had been moved to another place and didn't know where it was. She was insistant that I go outside and look up the address. She was having a melancholy moment. One day when I was cooking chicken nuggets for the kids she came in and took one (still frozen) and asked what it was. I told her and said they still needed to cook and she said that was okay, she'd eat it like that. Mind you, she had no teeth. She ate the whole thing. She would usually come in several times in the morning and announce "I work up and now I'm ready for breadfast" She usually ate "breakfast" 3 or 4 times every morning. She used to get up in the middle of the night and take all the clothes out of her closet and fold them on the bed. She never knew, in the morning, how they got on her bed and always denied that she did it. Chita said she used to pick up the kids clothes from around the house and fold them also. When she slept she curled up into a little ball. She was so tiny. I am so grateful that I was able to know her.
